Salmon Hatchery Program

Pete understands the important role of salmon hatcheries on the North Island. He is passionate about watershed conservation, fishery enhancement, and active wildlife management. These fish will have an increased survival rate and therefore there will be more returning adults.
2500 Coho Eggs. The fry will be fed for about four months before being released into the wild.
Pete volunteers his time via the Port McNeill Chinook Club at hatcheries on Kokish River, Hyde Creek, and Bear Creek, as well as the Marble River Chinook hatchery. "It is very interesting and rewarding work!" says Pete.
